Jean Jacques Henner Signed Oil on Canvas Painting, 19th Century
Mid 19th-century oil on canvas painting signed Jean Jacques Henner. Dated 1856 in the bottom right corner. This one is likely real and relates well to some of his works of that early period of his career.
Note: The woman in green is not the familiar red haired woman who dominated his later works. There are a lot of questionable Henner's floating about the art world, but they all seem to depict his red-haired muse. We cannot imagine why anyone would create a phony Henner from the early period of his career. It's a harder sell and it would be simpler and more profitable for a forger to just forge one of the ones that stylistically relate to his more popular and highly valued later work.
Measurement: Art: 21.8 x 15.1 in. (55.5 x 38.5 cm.), Frame: 29 x 22 1/2 in. (73.7 x 57.2 cm.)
