Highlighted Finds:

Anne d'Este Limoges Enamel Portrait

Limoges Enamel Portrait:

An early, large portrait, likely of Anne d'Este or Catherine of Lorraine from the 16th Century, attributed to Léonard Limosin. This exquisite piece surpasses a similar, smaller variant housed in the British Museum. With exceptional enamel work, its measurements are 44.5"H x 24"W framed. The frame, embellished with genuine gold leaf, might date back to the 18th century.

•	John Wollaston's Portrait Charles Willing

John Wollaston's Portrait:

A striking portrait believed to be by John Wollaston, showcasing Charles Willing – the mayor of Philadelphia from 1749-1754. The collection features items, including Chinese export porcelain, handed down through generations.

Egyptian and Asian Artifacts:

This includes ancient sarcophagus cover carvings, textiles adorned with hieroglyphics, and early Chinese temple stone guardian carvings, some of which have provenance.

Featuring the iconic Otto Prutscher Sculpted Cobalt Blue Glass for Weiner Werkstatte.

Other Noteworthy Inclusions:

  • Artworks (180+ lots): Notable paintings include works by Willem De Kooning (oil), Alfred Leslie (oil collage), Pablo Picasso, Wolf Kahn (oil), Vasarely, Paul Cesar Helleu (gouache), Arthur Carles Beecher (gouache), Wilfredo Lam (oil), and John Wollaston's portrait of the mayor of Philadelphia from around 1750. There are also captivating pieces by Francesco Alegiani (trompe l’oeil), Henry Parton, Mark Rothko (silkscreen), Arthur Davies, G. Braque, and Edwin Blashfield's grand renaissance revival oil. Laurencin, Hananiah Harari, Stojanovic, and Pascal are also among the highlights. The collection doesn’t stop at paintings; the photography section is equally compelling with pieces by Horst P. Horst, Irving Penn, Aubrey Bodine, Doris Ullmann, and a striking portrait of Alexander McQueen by Gilles Benisimon. Designer Fashion and Accessories (80+ lots): An expansive collection from some of the best names in fashion.

  • Antiquities: A diverse collection of antiquities spanning various cultures, including Egyptian, Chinese, and Luristan artifacts. The Asian assortment is particularly vast, boasting an array of Chinese Export porcelain, notably a nesting set of 10 serving platters. Additionally, the collection features exquisite Chinese export silver, an early stone-carved Foo dog temple guardian statue, and intricately designed furniture. Further enriching this collection are pieces from the estate of Regina Doi, an esteemed educator and collector. Her legacy brings forth works by artists such as Yoshitoshi Mori, K.
